Make Money Online by Teaching English — What to know & How to
Teaching English online is amazing way to make some extra money while traveling the world or being a digital nomad. I’ve been doing it for 6 months and it has literally covered my expenses, bringing in around $2K/mo. I’ve been working for a company called VIPKid, which I highly recommend but there are many similar opportunities out there.
What is it?
It’s basically teaching young Chinese learners English online through the company’s video conference platform in a one-on-one setting. The company gives you lesson material so there is minimal prep time involved.
How much can you make?
Roughly $10 per 25 minute lesson or $20/hr. You can teach as much or as little as you want but it’s recommended that you be available for at least 7.5 hours per week. You set your own schedule.
What are the requirements?
You need to have a Bachelor’s degree, eligible to work in the US or Canada and the equivalent of one year of teaching experience, which could include mentoring or tutoring.
