As a YouTuber, one way you could look at it is, that I’m in direct competition with the mainstream media… For your attention.
I’ve been consuming YouTube over TV for about 8 years now, and to say the least, I’ve been enlightened on a few subjects over the years. My Review: I feel fundamentally smarter and more informed about the world.
Now of course, YouTube is what you make it. You can watch cat videos, or you can watch educational videos. But boy, is there some great education, and educaTORS on YouTube.
I’ve seen this chare years ago but, maybe most people don’t know that 6 media companies control much of the US media. Not that this is necessarily an evil thing, as this is how many industries work, such as the food industry, pharmaceutical industry, defence, industry technology industry to some degree etc.
So in short, YouTube has changed my life, ever since I decided to cut cable, and enter the world of independent media.
Who do you follow? Let’s make this a discussion instead of a lecture!
Here’s come channels that I’ve been following over the years.
News & Politics
When we consumer our news, how do we know they are telling the truth? Well, it comes down to, we trust them. So we should get our news from who we trust most. Either we trust the TV networks, or we trust someone on YouTube. The thing about independent researchers & investigators on YouTube, is you can get to know them on a more personal level after you follow them for a while. And if they seem untrustworthy, then you can simply stop watching them! Simple as that. Whereas TV, there are at limited number of networks to choose from, and all seem to push similar narratives.
These channels are independent media channels run my journalists, investigators and authors that specialize in current events & geopolitics. I’ve been following these guys for years, and I even randomly met Luke in Chiang Mai! They key is they are free-thinkers, not paid by any company, and just seeking truth about what’s going on in the world. No agenda, no filters, just bringing useful information to the world because they are passionate about it, instead of working for a company.
Luke WeAreChange
The Corbett Report
Stefan Molyneux
If you follow these guys, you will start to see some more recommended related channels. And the people that they interview are usually good to follow.
